Skipper Certificate Syllabus

9 am till 5 pm on two consecutive days
For individuals from beginners age 10 to experienced sailors interested in structured learning to fill gaps in their knowledge
Participants learn skills that enable them to join a race crew with confidence or to skipper their own charter yacht any where in the world
All courses are also suitable for ladies – Learn to sail without getting yelled at;
practise man overboard so you can go back to pick him up;
bring along your friends for a girls weekend of fun and enlightenment
The course is conducted on board the yachts
Theory is covered on the first morning with practical application on the water in the afternoon and the following day. There are no more that 5 participants on each course.

There is no test required as we do not move from one topic to another until every participant has accomplished each task. Certificates of Competency are posted out within seven days.

Next steps

We recommend that you call VicRoads on 13 11 71 to make an appointment for a Recreational Boating License test. A licence is required to helm any motorised vessel other than hire/drive vessels. You may wish to crew on a racing yacht.
